I’m Liz Dumontet, a multidisciplinary visual artist and designer with over 15 years of professional experience. I work closely with interior designers, business owners, and creative directors to create artwork and visual systems that are both emotionally compelling and strategically sound.

I hold a BFA from UBCO and a Certificate in Intellectual Property from NVBC.  My background spans fine art, illustration, branding, murals, motion graphics, and emerging media. I’ve taught across a wide range of settings; from artist-run centres and galleries, to international student programs, mental health environments, and private studios- working with all ages and levels of experience.

My work has been featured in magazines, newspapers, journals, and podcasts, and commissioned by clients ranging from financial and health institutions, to authors, national cideries and breweries, musical artists, homeowners, and media companies. You’ll find my art living in public spaces, private collections, commercial interiors, and digital platforms. I’ve participated in augmented-reality exhibitions, and I am exploring the addition of animation and motion into my portfolio.

Alongside traditional practice, I currently work in software development and place strong value on user experience, seamless interaction, and visual clarity. These values carry through in everything I do, whether I’m creating a brand system, painting a canvas, or composing a mural, I approach each project with the same focus: balance, colour intelligence, composition, and the desire to create something that feels alive, memorable, and built to last.

At the heart of my work is a deep care for how art is experienced. I’m fascinated by the somatic and emotional impact of visual language; how colour, scale, rhythm, and form can create visceral responses, anchor memory, and shape how people feel in a space. I design and paint artwork to be felt, and I create moments of connection, presence, and lasting impression for the viewer, the user, and the environment the work inhabits.
